On Sunday, Brian and I volunteered at the BARCS adoption event that was held at Bark! in Pikesville.  We had two dogs from the shelter join the other foster dogs at the event – Black + Morello (who was adopted yesterday!)  They spent the day outside of the shelter, meeting lots of new people and showing them how wonderful shelter pets can be.  We had the pleasure of bringing Black to the event and he was SUCH a good boy.  Love love love that dog and hopefully he finds a good home soon.  We also had several of our wonderful foster homes bring their foster pups to the event.  Joining in on the fun were Frederick, Lucky, Indy, Melvin, Paris, Carlie, and two pups who are available for adoption through Mid Atlantic Bully Buddies – Tucker + Autumn.  A big thanks goes out to Bark! for letting us come out to the store and talk to their customers about the wonderful dogs available for adoption at BARCS.  Bark! graciously donated 10% of all sales on Sunday (from both their Pikesville and Clarksville locations) to BARCS.  WOW – thank you so much for supporting these great dogs.

So here are a few photos from Sunday’s event – it was a great day spent with awesome volunteers and amazing dogs.  I think we turned a lot of heads on Sunday and hopefully we changed a few minds about the pit bull perception.  I know one lady we met said she has always gotten terrified whenever she hears the term “pit bull” – but she met Black and was loving on him without fear!  There was a lot of interest in our dogs from the public and quite a few inquiries about adoptions and fostering.  Fingers crossed that some of these pups find their forever home soon.  They totally deserve it!
