Another dog I had the pleasure of photographing for Lowcountry Dog Magazine last month was Kiya, a 9 year old German Shepherd. She was the perfect model and was so fun to work with. She uses a cart to get around due to a condition called Degenerative Myelopathy, which is a disease affecting the spinal cord, causing progressive paralysis of the limbs. Kiya navigates her cart with ease, keeping up with her three canine housemates and living a full life despite not being able to use her hind legs at all. It’s always so amazing to see how smart and resilient dogs really are. Kiya is most certainly a shining example of that. So please enjoy these images of Kiya in Hampton Park! Oh and you just might recognize this cover girl – she was the one chosen for the cover of Lowcountry Dog Magazine!

These are just awesome! They speak to the joy dogs have no matter what their circumstances – great work.
