One of my 2013 goals was to work with local rescues + shelters to focus on helping difficult to adopt pets and those that have been in foster care for a really long time.  Although I’ve enjoyed working in the high-kill shelter environment for the past 2 years, the emotional strain and stress took it’s toll on me last year so I knew I needed to find another outlet for helping animals.  Luckily, a mutual Facebook friend introduced me to Kelly, who runs Carolina Coonhound Rescue and on Sunday evening, I met up with Kelly + a few volunteers and photographed some of their adoptable dogs.  It was a gorgeous evening at the park and I was thrilled to meet them!  I’m pleased to introduce you to River (male), Ryder, Cowboy, Mabeline, Lillie + River (female), who are all patiently waiting for their forever home.

UPDATE: Mabeline was adopted this week! Congrats Mabeline!

Please feel free to check out the full album on my Facebook page here and share these precious faces with anyone you know who may be interested in adopting a dog from them!  Thanks so much for supporting your local rescues + shelters!
