On Saturday I started volunteering at the Charleston Animal Society, the city’s open intake shelter located in North Charleston. I had butterflies in my stomach the entire car ride there, so anxious to get back to doing what I love and excited to be partnering with such a wonderful organization. I spent a lot of time taking it all in, trying to get back into my shelter photography “groove” and after 2 1/2 hours at the shelter, I felt a great sense of accomplishment and an overwhelming feeling of finally being at “home”.
I will certainly be much more productive when my trusty assistant Brian gets down here for good, which will be this weekend… yay! I know I sometimes take his assistance for granted, but photographing shelter dogs solo is rather difficult + time consuming. The dogs I photographed on Saturday were all really well behaved and allowed me to get some amazing shots even though I was working alone. So without further ado, here are the adoptable dogs that I photographed on Saturday morning at CAS: Caramela, Ralph, Sam, Sally, Shadow, Daisy, Victoria, Butters, Babie + Hazy.
**UPDATE: Daisy was adopted on Saturday, Hazy was adopted on Sunday, and Sam + Caramela were adopted today!!
Please share these precious faces with your friends, family + anyone else you know who may be looking for their newest furry family member. These are all such wonderful dogs just waiting for their forever family to come take them home. Charleston Animal Society is located at 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston SC 29406. Visit their website at www.charlestonanimalsociety.org or give them a call at 843.747.4849. Their hours of operation are Monday – Saturday from 10am until 6pm and Sundays from 10am until 5pm. Thank you on behalf of the pups!
