I have followed photographer Lexi Vornberg for as long as I can remember. To be honest, I can’t even remember how I first stumbled across her work but I’ve always been a big fan. She specializes in senior photography and she totally rocks it out. She launched Lemonade and Lenses last summer and it has become such a valuable resource for photographers. It started as a forum for photographers to share, learn, grow + inspire each other. They added an monthly online magazine for photographers along the way and earlier this year they decided to start printing the magazine, as well as offering it online digitally. I was SO excited when they announced that they would be doing a pet photography issue this year. You often see articles and magazines dedicated to all sorts of human portrait photography, but not often do you see something completely dedicated to pets. So thank you L&L for doing this issue! It’s awesome and packed with great content.
I originally entered one of my images in the cover contest and I was thrilled when I received an Honorable Mention. What a huge honor, especially given my competition! Then I was given the opportunity to write an article for the magazine and I jumped at the chance. After brainstorming with Lexi, we decided that I should write an article with general tips for pet photographers. It was fun to sit back and think about everything I’ve learned about pet photography over the past 2 years – what works, what doesn’t, etc. It was definitely a great exercise in writing and I can’t wait to get my hands on the printed version to see my images + writing in print! I think it’s every photographers dream to see their work in print and this is a huge honor for me. Thank you SO much, Lexi, and everyone else at Lemonade and Lenses. This was a great issue and I loved reading every single article!
