I am so excited to finally spill the beans!! I was given the amazing opportunity to photograph the June/July cover story for Lowcountry Dog Magazine, which is the leading resource for dog owners in the Charleston area. To be given this opportunity was beyond anything I ever could have asked for and I am forever indebted to Leah, the amazing editor of LCDM, for believing in me and allowing me to contribute to such a great publication. The June/July cover story was called “Spirit Unbroken” and detailed the stories of 4 Lowcountry dogs living with disabilities. Upon meeting each dog for their individual photo shoots, it was clear to me that these dogs all share one over-arching quality – resilience. Despite their disability, each dog lives a full + happy life with their families and there is absolutely no stopping them.
I will be posting an individual feature of each session on my blog over the next few months, so please keep checking back to see more from each session. Thank you to Lowcountry Dog Magazine, and especially Leah, for allowing me to document these precious dogs’ stories through photographs. It was really special and I loved every minute of it. Thank you to the families who brought their beloved dogs out to meet me. And last but not least, thank you to my amazing models – Kiya the German Shepherd, Finn the Hound Mix, Petie the Pit Bull Mix, and Pudge the Pug. You guys seriously rocked it out and I can’t wait to share even more images from your photo shoots on the blog. There are a ton more beautiful images that I can’t wait to share that didn’t make the magazine edit!
