I was recently accepted into HeARTs Speak – an organization of artists who are dedicated to giving a voice to rescue and shelter animals through art.  As you may know, I have been involved with GoldHeart Golden Retriever Rescue for the past 3+ years – Brady was adopted through them and I’ve served on the Board of Directors since 2008.  I’m currently serving as Vice President.  I have been involved with animal rescue for a long time and now, more than ever, I find it extremely important for me to volunteer my time to helping rescue and shelter animals find their forever homes.  My love for photography and my dedication to helping homeless animals go hand in hand.  I was so excited to learn of this amazing organization because their goals are so aligned with mine.  I absolutely love volunteering and when I started my photography business, I realized I had a different, powerful platform to use.  I knew I definitely wanted to help animal shelters and rescues by providing them with high-quality photos of their adoptable animals for their website.

Have you ever looked on a rescue or shelter’s website?  Maybe Petfinder.com?  Some of those biography photos are just tragic.  Don’t get me wrong – some photos are decent.  But all too often, you see dark photos of the animals, maybe even in their crate or kennel.  Fuzzy, low res images that just don’t do the animal justice.  Biography pictures are vital to getting animals adopted – the biography photo is often the first impression a dog or cat makes on a potential adopter.  Photographing at BARCS has been rewarding but also very hard since I have never volunteered at a “kill” shelter before.  It really makes what I do that much more important.  These animals depend on me to help them find a family and the homes they so desperately deserve.  I’m so excited to be involved with my local shelters and rescues to help their animals shine and find their forever homes!  I am even more excited to be a part of HeARTs Speak, an absolutely amazing organization that promotes rescue and adoption.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of something so special and dear to my heart!

undefinedIf you are involved with or know of an animal rescue or shelter that could benefit from my services, please let me know.  If you are located in another area of the country, HeARTs Speak can put you in touch with an artist closer to you.  We are all here to help!
