Early last week, I met up with the winner of my Charleston Model Call – a border collie mix named Maddie. We ventured over to Hampton Park which is a gorgeous location full of beautiful plants and gorgeous sunlight in downtown Charleston. It was the perfect location for our session. When I was reading through the submissions for my Model Call, Maddie’s story stuck out and truly touched me. The short version is that she was a stray dog who showed up at my client’s mother’s house in Georgia. In December of 2008, on a holiday trip home to visit her family, my client fell in love with Maddie and ended up taking her back home to Charleston with her. It was love at first sight and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
“Three years later, I can say with conviction that this loveable dog is the best thing that ever happened to me,” wrote Maddie’s mom in her first email to me. “I like to think of her as my Christmas present from God.” The bond that Maddie shares with my client is special and you could just see the adoration in Maddie’s eyes. It was obvious that the feeling is mutual and I just loved photographing them together. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I love working with clients who have rescued or adopted their pets. The bond is just so amazing and strong. I simply love being a part of it.
So please enjoy this peek at Maddie’s session in downtown Charleston!
